During the 1950's it was getting increasingly difficult for the St. Peter's Bay and Mt. Stewart United Church pastoral charges to be self supporting. About 1960 those two charges amalgamated and became known as the Mt. Stewart, St. Peter's Bay charge. The Worship Services in those two churches were every Sunday, while Marie and Bristol were held alternately. In 1962 the people of Marie and Bristol churches decided to close them, and build a new church in the village of Morell to be known as the Peter Gordon Memorial Church. On October 14, 1962, the comer stone was laid. Wheel chair accessible.
